FAQs

How do I find out if the dentist takes my insurance?

Call your insurance carrier to find out if the dentist is in or out of network. Most plans will cover something toward out-of-network providers. Meaning if the dentist is out of network, you may have some out-of-pocket expenses with that provider because the dentist is not accepting your insurance company’s fee schedule, as payment in full. Medicaid insurance plans are almost always plans that require you to go to a participating provider, that Medicaid is contracted with.

Can I get braces or other orthodontic treatments as an adult?

Absolutely. Many adults choose orthodontic treatments to improve their smile. Your dentist can discuss various options, including clear aligners and traditional braces, and refer you to an orthodontist.

What should I do in case of a dental emergency?

Contact your dentist immediately for guidance. Common emergencies include a knocked-out tooth, severe toothache, or a broken tooth.

How can I prevent cavities in my children's teeth?

Encourage regular brushing and flossing, limit sugary snacks and drinks, and ensure your children have regular dental check-ups and cleanings which we recommend every 6 months.

What options are available for teeth whitening?

Dentists offer professional teeth whitening procedures that are safe and effective. Discuss your preferences and any concerns with your dentist to determine the best approach for you.

How can I alleviate tooth sensitivity?

Tooth sensitivity can be caused by various factors. A dentist can determine the cause and recommend desensitizing toothpaste or other treatments based on your specific situation.

Is it normal for my gums to bleed when I brush or floss?

Occasional bleeding may occur, but persistent bleeding may be a sign of gum disease. Consult your dentist if you experience regular bleeding.

What can I do to maintain good oral hygiene at home?

Brush your teeth twice a day using fluoride toothpaste, floss daily, and use an antimicrobial mouthwash. Maintain a diet low in sugary foods and beverages.

How often should I visit the dentist for a routine check-up?

It is generally recommended to visit the dentist every six months for a routine dental check-up and cleaning.

Do we provide implant services?

We do provide the restoration part of the implant process. We work with local Oral Surgeons that do the initial placement into the bone, when that healing process is done, then the patient returns to our office where the abutment and superstructure (crown, bridge, denture) are completed.

Why is it important for my dentist to know my medical history and medications?

We take patient health seriously, taking vital signs and a medical history at each visit gives the doctor of dentistry indicators of the patient’s overall health. High Blood pressure, diabetes, infection, heart problems, thyroid problems, and more, along with medications being taken can give the dentist indications as to why they are having problems with their soft tissue or dentition.

Do you make dentures?

Yes, we make dentures. The process takes approximately 5 visits, which can take a period of about 4- 10 weeks.

Do I really need to have X-rays?

Yes, we recommend x-rays, it is necessary to identify and diagnose conditions that otherwise may go undetected.

When should I start taking my child to the dentist?

You should bring your child to the dentist around 1 year of age. This gives the dentist an opportunity to start building a rapport with the child in a positive atmosphere and gives the parent an opportunity to ask questions and go over concerns with a dental professional. It also gives everyone the ability to work toward a positive dental health outcome for many years.

I have dentures, but my face is changing. I need new dentures to accommodate the change. Is that possible?

Sometimes, depending on what is causing the change. We would need to start with a consultation.
